Things to note when identifying good Japanese masking tape

2024-07-26

Under normal circumstances, the colored washi tapes on the market are used for marking or masking. Most of the washi tapes on the market are beige and khaki, and most people think that the colored washi tapes are the color of the film. In fact, the color is the color of the glue. The colors of washi tapes are various, and its base material is mainly washi paper.

To identify good washi tapes, you need to pay attention to the following points:

1. Look at the viscosity of the glue: If there is no glue pulled apart or pulled apart in dots, there must be a lot of impurities in the glue used to produce this tape product.

2. Look at the color of the tape: Apply the yellow tape on the object. The thicker the glue with better masking, the better the quality. In terms of appearance, the color of the tape with less glue and impurities is very dark, and the tape has high light transmittance after being pulled apart. The color of the whole roll of good tape is not much different from the color of the one after being pulled apart, because good tapes have extremely strong masking properties and there will be no color superposition.

3. Look at the appearance of the tape: You can also tell whether a tape is good or bad. When the tape is just stripped into finished products, there are bubbles. After a week, the bubbles will basically disappear. The surface of the tape with pure tincture glue is smooth and there are no white spots. The tape mixed with impurities has many irregularly distributed white spots, which are different from bubbles if they cannot be dispersed by hand.
