Selection and requirements of electrical tape

2024-07-26

Electrical tape refers specifically to the tape used by electricians to prevent leakage and act as an insulator. This product has good insulation performance, flame retardant, high voltage resistance, high temperature resistance, strong shrinkage elasticity, easy to tear, easy to roll, high flame retardancy, and good weather resistance.

The quality of electrical tape involves electrical safety. Therefore, the following points should be noted when selecting the quality of electrical tape:

1. Starting from the appearance of the electrical tape, the surface color of a good roll of electrical tape should be uniform and the cross-section should be flat, without convex rolls or glue overflowing. If the electrical tape has glue overflowing, it means that the glue of this tape has aged. The wire ends wrapped with this or the same batch of electrical tape will become loose after a long time, causing serious consequences of leakage.

2. The peeling surface of the electrical tape. Under normal circumstances, the peeling force of the electrical tape should be moderate. If the peeling force is too light, it is not easy to wrap the wire. If the peeling force is too heavy, it is difficult to pull it apart and the electrical tape is prone to deformation.

3. The stickiness of the adhesive surface of the electrical tape. The stickiness of the adhesive surface should be stronger, but it should be noted that the stickier the better. For the characteristics of rubber, it is necessary to pay attention to whether the adhesive surface is rough. If it is rough, the quality of the gelatin water will be affected.

4. It is necessary to pay attention to the changes in the tensile properties of the electrical tape, which will affect the insulation of the electrical tape to a certain extent.
